As we strive to bring jobs to our area that require advanced technological skills, certifications, and licensing, we must be sure that our workforce has education and training to provide the skills we need to succeed. Workforce development is crucial to ensure that we have people who have the right skills at the right time.
Delaware County along with Blackford, Fayette, Henry, Jay, Randolph, Rush, Union, and Wayne Counties make up Indiana’s Economic Growth Region 6. The time has come for District 34 to realign ourselves with counties along the I69 corridor, Madison County (Anderson), and Grant County (Marion), to take advantage of data from counties and communities that are more like our own to drive economic development and workforce needs for the future.
